Website Publishing
CommCenter provides administrator-only website deployment controls in the shared header. Use them when a saved structural or configuration change requires the public website to be rebuilt.
Deploying the Selected Website
Select the intended organization, then choose Deploy Website. The confirmation dialog checks Netlify for a pending or active build before enabling the deployment action.
After deployment starts, keep the dialog open while CommCenter checks progress. The dialog reports success or failure when Netlify finishes. A normal website build takes approximately one to three minutes, although queued builds can take longer.
CommCenter prevents a second build from being requested when the selected website already has a pending or active deployment. If the availability check fails, the action stays disabled rather than risking a duplicate build.
Deploying All Websites
When Academy District 20 is selected, the dialog also offers Deploy All Websites. This sends every enabled website target to Netlify in controlled batches. Netlify queues builds that exceed the available concurrency.
Use this action only for changes that truly affect all district and school sites, such as a shared template or interface release. CommCenter tracks the individual builds and reports any failures when the bulk operation finishes.
If a target already has a pending or active build, the bulk operation follows that build instead of creating a duplicate request.
Environment Restrictions
Website deployment is enabled only in the production CommCenter environment. In staging, the dialog can be opened for review, but its deployment actions are disabled and no website build is started.
Saving content and deploying a website are separate actions. Many messages, feeds, notifications and search updates are consumed dynamically, while page structure, templates or shared website configuration may require a deployment. When in doubt, save the CommCenter change first and confirm the affected public page before starting an additional build.
