Analytics & Reporting
Analytics and reporting dashboards are administrative tools for monitoring CommCenter activity, public website usage, AI search behavior and public website email submissions.
The left navigation includes Analytics & Reporting sections for AI Search Analytics, Email Reporting, Publishing Overview and Website Analytics. CommCenter also has dashboard routes for Home and Message Quality.
Dashboard Home
The CommCenter dashboard home is the first screen after login for many users. It is not listed under the Analytics & Reporting menu, but it is still a dashboard view.
Depending on permissions, the home dashboard can show:
- recent announcements
- recent features and stories
- recent notifications
- shortcuts to create announcements and features
- shortcuts to manage notifications, pages and teams
Use this dashboard for quick navigation and recent-content review. Use the reporting dashboards below for measurement and trend analysis.
AI Search Analytics
AI Search Analytics summarizes public site search and AI chat usage. It is available from Analytics & Reporting > AI Search Analytics.
The dashboard includes:
- total searches, AI chat queries, keyword-only searches and no-result searches
- feedback coverage for AI chat, helpful rate, thumbs down count and rated AI chat count
- search volume over time
- AI chat feedback over time
- most downvoted queries
- user-submitted improvement feedback
- top searches
- detailed search records for a selected top search
- searches with no results
- searches by school
Use the date range controls to switch between 7D, 30D, 90D and YTD. Volume charts can use automatic, daily or weekly grouping.
The Most Downvoted Queries section helps identify AI answers that need content or response improvements. The Searches With No Results section helps identify content gaps: topics people are looking for but not finding.
Select a row in Top Searches to open search details. Details can include the question, AI response, related pages, organization, response time, language, follow-up status and feedback rating.
Email Reporting
Email Reporting summarizes public website email form submissions. It is available from Analytics & Reporting > Email Reporting.
The dashboard includes:
- total submissions
- delivered submissions
- submissions that need review
- unique IP count
- highest-volume IP activity
- repeated sender activity
- searchable submission records
- recent activity regardless of selected date range
- detailed submission review
Use the date range controls to switch between 7D, 30D, 90D and YTD. Use the status filter to view review items, all submissions, delivered submissions, blocked submissions, failed deliveries or invalid submissions.
Submission details can include recipient, sender, client IP, CAPTCHA result, rejection reason, subject, message body, moderation decision, moderation confidence, moderation categories, rate-limit information, origin, referer, user agent and delivery status code.
Use the copy action in the detail view when a submission needs to be reviewed or escalated outside CommCenter.
Publishing Overview
Publishing Overview shows publishing activity by date range and organization. It is available from Analytics & Reporting > Publishing Overview.
The dashboard includes:
- published message total
- announcement count
- feature/story count
- number of schools publishing
- publishing volume over time
- publishing by school when viewing all schools
- schools with no recent publishing
- school publishing summary
- recent published messages
Use the date range controls to switch between 7D, 30D, 90D and YTD. Charts can use automatic, daily or weekly grouping.
The All Schools toggle expands the dashboard beyond the selected organization when available. The inactive-school section groups schools by no publishing in 14-29 days, 30-89 days and 90+ days, based on each school's most recent published message.
Use this dashboard to monitor publishing consistency, identify schools that may need support and review recent publishing volume by content type.
Website Analytics
Website Analytics shows Google Analytics data for the selected organization. It is available from Analytics & Reporting > Website Analytics.
The dashboard includes:
- page views
- active users
- sessions
- average engagement per session
- page views over time
- page views by school and content type when viewing all schools
- traffic by device category
- top pages
- top announcements
- top features
Use the date range controls to switch between 7D, 30D, 90D and YTD. Charts can use automatic, daily or weekly grouping.
The All Schools toggle expands the view beyond the selected organization when available. Sync Google Analytics manually starts a Google Analytics sync. Syncing also runs automatically each day at 3 a.m., so manual sync should be used only when fresh data is needed.
The top-page tables include an information dialog explaining the difference between views and sessions. Views count page loads or screen view events. Sessions count visits, and one session can include multiple page views.
Message Quality
The Message Quality dashboard is an administrative dashboard route for reviewing content quality scores. It is not currently listed in the Analytics & Reporting menu, but it supports reporting on message quality.
The dashboard includes:
- a recent message quality table
- links to open the related message
- links to author profile pages
- organization and author quality context
- overall, readability, skimability, accessibility and grade-level scores
- quality over time
Use this dashboard to identify messages that may need editing for readability, accessibility, skimability or grade-level concerns.
Notes on Data
Reporting data comes from CommCenter database records, search analytics logs, website email submission records and Google Analytics sync data. Some dashboards update immediately from CommCenter data, while Google Analytics depends on scheduled or manual sync behavior.
Use reporting dashboards for trend review and operational awareness. For public-facing confirmation, always check the relevant website page, search experience or published message directly.
