# Configurations

Configurations are a way of exploring the variables that are used in Website Settings. These include the site's color palette, textures, background images, and fonts.

Each configuration form will show its definition and values, such as:

  • Definition
    • Category
    • Title
    • Variable Name
    • Description
  • Values
    • Type
    • Default Value
    • Value
    • Validation

These configurations are necessary for every website as they define many of the variable in use. In creating a new website, a full set of configurations would be copied from an existing website to the new website as a start.

One particular configuration is applicable to International Baccalaureate (IB) schools:

  • Configuration name: Website Logo
  • This configuration applies specifically to the IB logo used on schools that offer an IB program. The logo is used to the right of the main school logo on the homepage, and at the upper left of every page footer.
  • This configuration specifies the logo's URL, a link associated with clicking on the logo, and the logo's alt text.
  • This configuration only appears on school sites that utilize this extra logo.
