# Purpose

Features are a great way to highlight what’s going on at your school. They typically have longer, more narrative content than announcements.  They can also include pictures and videos, adding depth to the narration.

In additions to providing engaging content for the community, features also speak to those who are interested in attending your school by providing insights into how your school works and the kind of activities that occur.

Examples might include a recent class field trip with pictures or an award presentation to students or staff.

# Attributes

Features can have a varying life-span from a few months to a year or more. They can have a set expiration or naturally fall out of relevance depending on creation date. They can appear in feeds on multiple pages on a website depending on their category.

Features emphasize a more detailed narrative and supporting imagery. Journalism articles (even without imagery) are also suitable as features.

Once published, each feature will have its own unique url which can be used to direct visitors to that specific content.
